Pssst. Have you heard? Some are saying October is the new January for resolutions and goals, and they couldn’t be more right!
Why is October becoming such an important month in the health world? Here are four solid reasons: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s. It’s safe to say most people gain weight during the holiday season. In fact, some studies have suggested people can gain 5-10 pounds between Halloween and New Year’s Day. Now, that might not seem like a lot of weight — after all, those who do our 8-day challenge typically lose at least 5 pounds. But what about those who never shed those extra pounds after the New Year? They go through the next year maintaining their weight and then add additional weight during the holiday season. Once that happens a few years in a row, you can see how the extra pounds can add up.

Sure, it’s great to start a new year with new goals, but just think about what you could accomplish between now and January!
