That’s the sign message that hangs in the entryway of my rural Kansas home. But that sign isn’t just referring to the crazy rodeo and farm life I lead every day. It’s the basis of what drove me to start my own business helping others go after their dreams!
Through the years and all life had thrown at me with having a child with cancer, living less than paycheck to paycheck and being strapped with debt, and a turbulent marriage that resulted in divorce and raising three kids on my own. I had stopped dreaming. I tried to keep myself centered in reality and just get through each day rather than make dreams I was sure would only disappoint me.
In October 2011, I saw this sign. I’m unsure what compelled me to buy it, but I did. I decided to dream again. That life could be better. That we deserved better. I knew I must be the one in control of making that happen for me and my kids by “saddling up” and taking action.
So I did. I made goals each day. I made sure I took action toward my dreams. It didn’t happen overnight, but actions created progress. It changed my life. It changed my children’s lives. Since then, eXcel Wellness has changed hundreds of other people’s lives, too.
