It’s that time again to think about what goals you have for the coming year! I know I have some pretty big health AND wealth goals for 2020! I thought I’d share some tips with you on how you can keep your New Year’s resolutions — no matter what your goals might be!

1. WRITE DOWN YOUR GOALS

This is a BIG one for me! If I haven’t written it down, it’s like it doesn’t exist! This could be somewhere private like in a notebook or something very visual where you see those goals every day of the year. It doesn’t matter where you write them as long as you’ve declared them somewhere!

2. TALK ABOUT YOUR GOALS

Having a support system is vital to ANY goal or resolution. Make sure you tell your friends and family about your goals. I have no doubt they WANT to be able to cheer you on along the way! And, maybe you’ll even find someone with similar goals. That’s one of the things I LOVE so much about eXcel Wellness! We’re a group of like-minded people who support each other on our journeys to better health, wealth and life.

3. BREAK DOWN YOUR BIG GOALS INTO SMALLER GOALS

I don’t know about you, but staring at a big goal can be VERY intimidating to me! To the point where it seems too overwhelming to even get started. That’s why breaking down your big goals to smaller goals is so important. Let’s say you have a goal to lose 30 pounds this year. First of all, that’s a great goal — and I’d love to help you achieve that goal! 😉 Breaking down the goal to 5-pound or 10-pound increments will help keep you on track and will allow you to celebrate the little milestones along the way!

4. DEVELOP A TIMELINE

Just like breaking down big goals into smaller goals, developing a timeline for the small goals helps you accomplish your big goal by the end of the year. For you, that might mean quarterly milestone goals or maybe even monthly or weekly. Think about your goal and then determine what a timeline might look like to realistically accomplish it by the end of 2020.

5. PROGRESS OVER PERFECTION

Keep in mind, this journey is NOT going to be perfect! You’re going to stumble along the way as you pursue your goal. Don’t beat yourself up about it! If you fall off the bandwagon, just jump right back on! Progress toward your goal should be what you strive for — not a perfect journey.
