During the long Memorial Day weekend, we asked our teammates to share their best ideas on how to keep on track while on the go! They came up with some GREAT snacks, meals and tips and tricks to help you manage your health goals while being super busy!
Here are some of their ideas:
Snacks/Meals
- I have found keeping snacks on the go ready like cheese sticks, pepperoni sticks and nuts helps me stay on track! — Christy
- I make a romaine-wrapped turkey and cheese wrap and out the door I go! — Jessica
- Because I’m always busy, it helps when I keep our veggie tray full and a bowl of chopped lettuce so if we feel like a salad, I plate out a salad to go with our main course. 1 cup lettuce + 1 cup of chopped veggies (peppers, carrots, celery, broccoli) … makes a great crunchy and flavorful salad. This veggie tray makes it easy to grab a handful on the days I need a snack on the go as well. No refrigeration needed — toss in a bag and out the door! — Ronna
- With the busy weekend ahead, I have prepared easy grill meals and tucked them in the fridge. One main protein (steak, chicken and cedar planked salmon) in ziplock bags with dry rubs for a “marinade.” Makes it easy for me to fire up the grill and toss them on when I get home! — Ronna
- My favorite on-the-go snacks are jerky, nuts and cheese crisps — things that don’t need to be refrigerated — LOTS of water and Trimstix! Cheese sticks, boiled eggs and veggies in a cooler are totally doable on long road trips. — Carolyn
- Making sure I prep my meals/snacks the night before keeps me on track, to not grab the unhealthy items. Cheese sticks and turkey snack sticks are my go-to items. — Kayle
- When I’m on the go, I like to take almonds, pepperoni slices or salami with me. All pre-portioned and ready to grab as needed. Sometimes I even taken Lean along to have a quick snack and fight hunger. — JoDee
- Leave the bun off of any sandwich or burger if eating out. Always order water to drink and have prepackaged snacks in your purse (nuts, turkey sticks, Trimstix). If I’m going to a barbecue, I always take broccoli salad or a chunky chopped salad so there will be something I can have. Beach snacks: nuts, jerky, pork rinds, berries, lunch meat roll-ups and water! — Shelby
- My on-the-go snacks are Lean in portioned baggies, salami-wrapped around mozzarella cheese sticks and almonds. — Denise
Supplements/Water
- I have to set alarms. When I go, I put everything in an empty bottle of Xyng and try to have my drink made before I leave! — Jessica
- Because most of us get wrapped up in a busy day, we lose track of time. Use your alarms to help keep you on track with your supplements. Adjust accordingly. — Ronna
- When we are on the go, I always fill my favorite jug with cold water and include one of my shaker cups with a straw. It keeps me accountable with my water intake. My copilot (my wonderful husband) will fill my cup from my jug when needed. I also take my supplement organizer so I don’t lose any in the bottom of my purse! — Angela
- I take a certain number of water bottles with me. I know how many I need to drink by lunch and by supper time to meet my water quota for the day. This is a great visual reminder for me!! — Melinda
- When you’re on the go, make sure you remember your Lean! I’ve used ziplock bags, a baby formula container, etc, to store mine! — Jenalea
- I’m always on the go, so I have my supplements sorted in a 7-day oversized pill box purchased in a craft department. I just toss it in my purse on the way out the door. — Melissa
- I measure out Lean into a single serving in a snack size ziplock bag (I usually have two ready) and put it, a couple of Trimstix and a couple Resist in a shaker cup. That way, I’m ready if I can’t make a meal. — Tammy
- My favorite tip is to have little bags of 1/4 cups of almonds in my purse at all times!! And, of course, a small pill container for my supplements and ALWAYS Trimstix!!! Even if I miss a meal, I can eat almonds and drink a Trimstix and I’m good to go!! — Melinda
- I got ta pill container and filled it today to keep me on track when I’m on the go. — Leslie
- A formula container works great for my Lean! Holds three servings. — Michele
